Fine late 18th to early 19th century Scottish Cuban mahogany sofa table of large size. Being Cuban mahogany it is pretty heavy. The top, which is in very good condition with no splits is cross banded in callamander with a boxwood line inlay. The table is finished all round with one drawer in each side and has similar boxwood line inlays throughout. The base is of typical early Scottish (Edinburgh) design with carved knees and original quality brass castors. The drawers of the table are oak lined. The table has the original brass knobs to one side and similar old replacement brass knobs to the other side. The lopers which hold the leaves up form part of the freize when up which is a pleasing feature.
The table requires minor restoration which is included in the price. It is a nice colour with original finish.
