Restorer of Antique Furniture
As well as selling antiques Carse Antiques & Restorations as the name suggests provides a first class restoration service. The restoration service is carried out by myself, Andrew Stephens. I have spent my whole adult life as an antiques restorer and cabinet maker. As well as being self taught I trained with the renowned antiques restorer Don Wright and also spent several years working as a cabinet maker with Andwells Antiques of Hartley Witney (now no longer in business). I have been working on my own since 1990 and in that time have gained a reputation as one of the most respected Antiques restorers in the whole of Scotland. I specialise in the restoration of mainly Antique Furniture pre 1850 although later quality furniture is also repaired. Grandfather clocks and barometers are also repaired both the cases and the movements, the movements are repaired by a carefully chosen outside specialist. I can also undertake canework and some upholstery, more complicated upholstery is undertaken by a carefully chosen outside specialist. I also hold one of the largest stocks of period timbers, veneers, brassware and other period restoration materials in the whole of the UK. The best way to repair a piece of antique furniture is to use the correct antique timbers. You can call in to my shop at the Rait Antiques Centre and see me in the workshop at any time. If you would like more information on my restoration service or would like to speak to me about a particular item that requires restoration please just contact me, I will be very happy to help you if I can. You can also bring items into the shop at any time for me to look at and give a restoration quote. MY WORK IS GUARANTEED TO BE OF THE HIGHEST STANDARD
