Fine early 19th century French cherrywood buffet or dresser base of the most superb colour and patination. The buffet has two cupboards doors with two drawers above. The drawers are oak lined with original iron locks. The door also has its original iron lock with working original key. All the outside metal work decorartion is also all original. There is some nice carved detailing to the piece. It stands on small carved cabriole type legs. The cupboard has one fixed shelf.
The piece is in very good order for its age but as usual does have some very minor old worm damage, basically just a few old holes here and there.
The whole piece is the most sumptuous colour with wonderful original patination and waxed finish.
This is a really nice example of this format, way better than an average one.
