Superb quality huge Scottish Persian design carpet made by James Templeton & Co. of Glasgow. Manufactured around 1920 - 1930 by machine looms. These early examples of Templeton's work are always copies of fine and rare Persian carpets from the 19th century. This particular example is in very good condition apart from some very minor wear to one edge. The design and colours are stunning. Wool carpet.
